Being a new grower I have got to say this is a great idea but I sure did enjoy reading every thread while answering all those questions I had in my mind. The search goes on.
See ya :hello:

Ok for starters.  LST training.   I have read the whole thread twice.  Some parts several times.   It is very confusing with other people jumping in asking questions and crazy stuff.  I am starting my training and am confused as hell.  Maybe cut out some stuff in there and clarify some important information that isn't all that clear.  Also Trouble shooting guide.  New Pictures.  Maybe peoples personal experiences on this web sight.  Maybe they have pictures.  I have a picture of nute burn with blood meal mix in my soil.  More like hot spots.   Anyways I am just throwing out ideas.  I am a newbie and have found it a little difficult to understand it all.  But I soak in what I need and improvise the rest.  Thanks for such a wonderful community.  And the courage to grow my own.:D :D

Thanks Selene & puffn :)
I guess we're just waiting for someone to post a list of topics, and then we can start adding to it from there.

Oh the wish and desire to create the perfect thread and or journal!
"The wish is always granted when the author tries and means their best so as making the desire allegory once and for all!"
The above statement then quote intended to be on topic to this thread as it has an answer to it.

There's a good chance the new advanced grow guide, Oz et al are working on, will duplicate or cetainly cover alot of what we're trying to do here.
If we stick to merging and tidying up some of the "referance" type threads, like delta's LST, we'd stand less chance of duplicating the new guide. Would redoing the FAQ be overlapping the new guide? I think it may be worth getting an opinion from Oz.
I was thinking along the lines of "101" type threads, eg. a Training or grow style 101 could be done, cutting and pasting from various threads, covering sections on LST and ScrOg, SOG, bush stlye grows, plant support etc. Full in depth coverage of the tecniques for each style of grow or training method, including the science or biology behind the various tecniques, in one thread would be great, but again probably duplicates work currently underway.
a few 101 main headings, probably at least 10 sub headings for each subject, so not as simple as it appears;) ...
Environmental control 101
Photoperiods 101
Grow lighting 101
Pots, medium & Soil mix, ferts & addatives101
Hydroponic systems 101
Hydro Nutrient Management & addatives 101
Propergation 101
Harvest & storage 101
recycling 101
Genetics & Breeding 101
An awful lot of the work is already on the boards, it just needs tidying up and putting in the same place. Some subjects, like photoperiods, or rather it's 24/0 section;) have got to the point where a side by side experiment seems the only way forward, maybe we could end it's 101 thread with a description of the practical experiment we'd like to see completed.
I dunno, what do you grow folks think?

on a personal note: Blimey Mayor, that Sativa was strong eh:p

San, I think you're right on track....
MJ IS very high....:D   and we need to check in with Oz.
Everyone grows differently, so all info presented should be point/counterpoint with reasoning used so that folks can make an informed decision about a topic.
Where the debate has raged to no firm consensus, a detailed experimental plan is in order, I think.

TJ   Truer words can not be said TokaJay and any attempt to provide control and order to the benefit of anything "can't" be "bad" unless original intention has been forgotten.

Excellent ideas San & TJ.  We're getting support from the administration on this, and I think it's going to happen.  This project is also being coordinated with Stoney & Oz's work on the advanced guide so we don't duplicate our efforts.
The first priority is going to be harvesting threads and placing them in sub-categories, so we have a collection of information to work from.  Once we get a good size base, then we'll start in on the editing, point-counterpoint, etc.
OK, now we have a list to start with - do you want me to assign topics?
Also, Mayor, are you interested in volunteering? Or just contributing poetry to this dictionary thread? :p

I'd be happy to help out as well.
Just let me know what you want me to do.
You could name the new forum, Step By Step Tutorials.
Make it a sticky & put it at the top of every forum.
Make it so that when someone clicks on it, they get a list of topics.
Then when they place their cursor over the topic they're intersested in, suptopics pop up.
Example:
Step By Step Tutorials:
Propogation:
Soil (Indoors)
Soil (Outdoors)
Aeroponics
Bubblers
NFT
Construction:
Security
Lighting
Venting
Harvesting:
When to Harvest
Drying
Curing
You could then have subtopics within these that get more specific.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Let me know if you want my help.
Later.
