Should I Keep Pollen In The Freezer?
« on: August 13, 2004, 10:49:12 pm »
I collected some pollen the other day and was wondering if I should keep it in the freezer or not. I heard someone on here say that is how they store theirs but the freezer seems like a bad idea to me because of moisture. Will it last longer in the freezer?
I have the pollen folded up in wax paper and then I put black electrical tape around the folded up paper several times and then put the packet in a film canister. I havent put it in the freezer yet but I just wanna know what is the best way to store it so I dont have to do the collection procedure for a long time. Thanks in advance. Happy growing.

Ziploc Bag and the freezer should be enough.  *tips hat*

Yes was me that told other growers to store their pollen in the freezer....two things kill pollen...that is mold and fungus...and light.....your freezer is a very dry enviroment and mold and fungus can't grow in the low temp of your freezer....you've already taken care of the light situation....
pollen should be good for 6 mo to a year stored in your freezer
