Water and Micronutrients
« on: May 29, 2007, 12:23:00 pm »
Hello All,
Just starting a new project, and I have in my posession a fresh bottle of Pure Blend Pro Grow.  I have been using Botanicare products since I started growing, and this bottle has a new note on it denoted with two asterisks:  **If using reverse osmosis water, it is recommended to use 1 tsp. (5ml) of Cal-Mag Plus per gallon (4 liters) of water.  The tap-water in my city sucks, and I will absolutely not use it on my plants.  I don't have an RO machine, and I use distilled water because I can get it cheap, and I have total control over what goes into it.  I have never noticed any micronutrient deficiencies before while using it, but should I maybe use a different water, or add another supplement?  Thanks.

I have read here that distilled water is not good to use as it will actually leach minerals out of your soil, since distilled water has none.
Calcium is commonly found in tap water. Pureblend Pro must be low in magnesium & calcium. I use reverse osmosis water, but do add cal-mag to my mix.
